As someone who likes nature, I have to once again give President Bush some credit. He will designate three Pacific island areas as national monuments. No energy extraction and no commercial fishing. This will be the largest marine conservation effort in history. Some environmental groups are already praising Bush, and calling for more in the future. It seems Bush is once again pushing to save his legacy to some degree. I will not argue how successful he will be, but pushing to save the automakers a few weeks ago? Even many of his fellow Republicans were out to only put up roadblocks. This victory for environmentalists is another step in the right direction. No need to bite my head off by saying Bush is the worst, this cannot undo all the crap he did, and all that. That may be true, but I still have to give the guy credit when I think he is doing something good.
